KUMC Reopening Information

Updated October 14th, 2020

Check this page for additional updates on our plans for adding back more ministries on Sunday mornings.

We are excited to share with you the next steps in reopening our building for Sunday worship and weekday activities.

We are immediately dropping the need for pre-registration for worship and the taking of temperatures. When you come to worship we are asking your help with three things:

First, would someone from your family sign the registration book to let us know you joined us in worship.

Second, we trust you to practice appropriate social distancing.

And third, we ask that face coverings/masks be worn by everyone as we worship God together. Wearing a face covering/mask for children under the age of 10 is at the discretion of the parent. We have an overflow plan so we have room for everyone who comes to join us at either worship service. Nursery for children 4 & under and children’s church will continue at 11am.

We have adjusted the seating in both worship spaces. These changes reflect that we trust you know how to appropriately distance. We are also providing specific spacing in some areas for those who want it more defined. Our live streaming will continue for those who are most comfortable joining in us worship online.

During the weekday, including our current weekday studies, we will no longer ask for a temperature check to enter the building but we will continue the sign in/sign out at the welcome desk and keep our face coverings/masks on while in the building.

We are continuing to evaluate how to structure our Sunday mornings, including additional Sunday morning worship services, to serve our community. We will share more information with you about that next week as it relates to our children and youth ministries. We hope to see you Sunday in worship – either in person or online.

Childcare for ages 4 and under and Children’s Church is only available during the 11:00am hour at The Vine.  Temperature checks will be required for children using the nursery.

8th Grade Confirmation and 6th Grade Union meet at 10:00am

Please contact Rev. Jeremy Bass to see if a class is meeting in person or on Zoom.  A list of classes can be found here.
